May, 2008 5/10 Live Figure Drawing Workshop (Saturday) 10 am - 3 pm
With Instructor Dick Pasi Work with a well known artist and illustrator to refine your ability to draw the human figure with a live model. Figure drawing is the best way to refine your hand eye coordination and refine your ability to render a 3 dimensional object in two dimensions. Held in upstairs class room Need: A news print pad or other inexpensive large paper. Members: $45.00, Non Members: $50.00. Ages 15 and up.
5/13 & 15 Voice Workshop - Stand Up and Sing (Tues. & Thurs.) 7-8:30 pm
Stand Up and Sing - You know you always wanted to. With Instructor Shawn Daly** This workshop aims to present a BASIC introduction to the fundamentals of good vocal technique in a way that is accessible to people of all musical backgrounds. So if youre an aspiring soloist who wants a jump start on singing lessons or someone who simply desires to be a better church choir singer, then this is the workshop for you. In Gallery - Includes all materials. Ages 15 and up. ECCOTA Members $30.00 Non Members $35.00
**About Shawn Daly: Pianist, organist and vocalist, Shawn Daly holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, PA and masters degrees in piano and accompanying from Syracuse University. In 2007, he was awarded the Doctor of Musical Arts by the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
Dr. Daly has been heard in recital throughout the U. S., including performances on Cincinnati public radio, on Chicago's WFMT from the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concerts, and on the Civic Morning Musical Concerts in Syracuse. Other concerts include the 57th Annual American Music Festival at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC, and the faculty artist series at Earlham College. More recently, his engagements included the Pianists of the World Concerts at Londons historic St. Martin-in-the-Fields, the Music at Earlsdon Series (UK) and the University of Warwick (UK). In 2001, the National Federation of Music Clubs awarded him the Faye & John Abild Prize in American Music.
An active church musician, Dr. Daly's liturgical expertise includes the Roman Catholic, Orthodox, Anglican, and Lutheran traditions. He has held many prestigious appointments, most recently at the Basilica & National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey, Ohio. Currently, he is the proprietor of the Daly Music Studio in DuBois.

Experience the thrill of acting and singing in ECCOTAs Summer Theatre Camp. Under the direction of local music teacher Jason Phipps students will prepare a full-scale production of Godspell Junior while developing their creativity, social skills, communication skills and self-esteem. Drawing from various theatrical traditions, such as clowning, pantomime, charades, acrobatics and vaudeville, Godspell Junior is a groundbreaking and unique story with a message of kindness, tolerance and love.
The camp will begin on Monday, June 9 and conclude with two public performances, one Friday June 13 and a second on Saturday June 14. Campers who will be entering grades 3 through 12 in the fall of 2008 and are under 19 years of age are welcome to participate. Campers 6th grade and up are encouraged, but not required, to pre-audition for larger roles. Those interested in pre-auditioning will be contacted with more information.
