NOW HIRING FOR SUMMER 2018

The Elk County Council on the Arts is now accepting applications to fill the position of Arts Assistant. This is a summer internship with funding graciously provided by Stackpole-Hall Foundation and PHEAA. Students must qualify per PHEAA’s guidelines to participate in the Summer Work Study Program. Position Details:

Available start and end dates: The position will be open from May 6 to August 11, 2018. With exact start and end dates flexible to the student’s school schedule. ECCOTA interns must have reliable transportation. 

Available hours: 32-40 hours/week- includes working weekends and evening hours in the gallery or at events.

Pay: $8.00/hr

Duties will Include: (but are not limited to)

  • Develop, plan and instruct classes and workshops for children.
  • Assist with planning and implementation of ECCOTA’s Summer Theatre and Visual Arts Camps.
  • Plan and promote ECCOTA’s Anything Art Show and additional programming.
  • Sales and administrative work in the ECCOTA gallery.
  • Helping to organize and prepare the review of PPA grant applications.
What else?

This position requires an organized thinker who works well with a diverse day-to-day schedule. This is not an internship that will put you in a cubicle pushing papers for eight hours everyday (although at any given moment you could end up organizing files and supplies). Instead this is an internship that will allow the right person an opportunity to explore many facets of arts based education, planning, programming and funding right here in the heart of Elk County.

*Per PHEAA’s regulations an arts related major is preferred and the right candidate must work well with children.
