Arts & Learning Coordinator

The Elk County Council on the Arts is seeking an individual to fill the position of Arts & Learning Coordinator (formerly Public Art Program Manager). The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, highly organized, friendly, and have the ability to multi-task and quickly problem-solve. No artistic talent or ability is required, but an interest in the arts is a must. Non-profit, grant-seeking, education, and/or project management experience is preferred.

Arts & Learning Coordinator
Full-Time Exempt Position
$35,000 - $40,000 Annual Salary

FUNCTION: Serves as the face of ECCOTA throughout the region, developing and maintaining relationships with local and regional partners, and with the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. This position reports to the Executive Director. 

Arts in Education Program, Pennsylvania Council on the Arts (PCA) partnership
Facilitate all activities related to the Arts in Education partnership across a five-county region.
Provide a minimum of one artist residency in each county per year.
Seek funding sources and secure match money for host sites as needed.
Closely monitor and adhere to program budget and deadlines.
Attend PCA partner meetings, workshops, and conferences.
Recruit and maintain a roster of diverse teaching artists.
Provide professional development opportunities for rostered artists.
Travel to meetings, workshops, and residency observations as required.

Poetry Out Loud, National Recitation Competition, Pennsylvania Council on the Arts (PCA) partnership
Implement the Poetry Out Loud program as the Regional Coordinator.
Conduct outreach to local schools to encourage teacher and student participation.
Schedule and plan the regional Poetry Out Loud competition at a central location.
Distribute materials to local press promoting the POL program and announcing winners.

ECCOTA Class Programming
Assist the Executive Director in developing, evaluating, and operating educational programs.
Identify, recruit, and develop relationships with ECCOTA artists and other potential instructors to develop class topics.
Evaluate classes and assist in maintaining classroom space and materials.
Create marketing initiatives for educational programming.

Pennsylvania Wilds Center Administrative Support
Act as the main contact for PA Wilds Center/Wilds Cooperative of Pennsylvania contracted work.
Provide excellent customer service for inquiries about Wilds Cooperative membership, programs, and opportunities.
Help with the content curation of the PA Wilds and Wilds Cooperative websites.
Refer potential member businesses to the Wilds Cooperative of Pennsylvania.
Complete additional tasks and special projects as requested by the Executive Director.

Sales Gallery
Work evening hours, special events, and Saturdays as needed.
Establish positive relationships with local and regional artists.
Assist with sales and general operations of the sales gallery.
Assist with planning and execution of fundraisers, displays, exhibits, promotions, and educational programming.

General
Maintain and update print materials, social media, and website presence related to AIE, POL, and ECCOTA programming.
Create and distribute information via blog posts on ECCOTA.com and local press as appropriate.
In conjunction with the Executive Director, execute the organization’s strategic plan.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
