Pottery Classes at Mudslide Pottery

Learn how to throw on a potter’s wheel and make your own pottery!

This 2-hour class is for the beginner or experienced thrower. Each person will make two functional pottery pieces.

This class is for adults, age 16+, and will be instructed by Roly Boni at Mudslide Pottery, 17245 Boot Jack Road, Ridgway. The fee is $75 per person.

If you’re unavailable for your corresponding glaze date, you may be able to switch to another date, or someone else in the class can glaze your pieces for you.

When pieces are finished you will be notified about pick up at the ECCOTA Gallery, 237 Main Street, Ridgway.

Pre-registration is required. Registration is transferable but not refundable unless the class is canceled.

Spring Bunny Pottery Class

Wednesday, March 12, 5:30-8:30PM in the ECCOTA Gallery.

Build a spring bunny with ceramic artist Lisa Conklin Conn of Conklin Pottery Studio.

Using the pinch-pot method, participants will make their own ~7" tall bunny with clay. The bunnies can be adorned with underglaze decals and the colorful glaze color of your choice.

Lisa will take the finished pieces with her for kiln firing, and you'll pick up the finished bunnies a few weeks later at the ECCOTA Gallery.

Ages 12+. $45 per person. Class will be held at the Elk County Council on the Arts Gallery, 237 Main Street, Ridgway.

Join artist Shandra Wilson on Thursday, April 10 from 5-7PM to learn the art of Pysanky, the decorating of traditional Ukrainian Easter eggs.

Students will hear a brief history of the tradition of Ukrainian Egg decorating and then will be guided through the process of creating their own Pysanka.

With guidance from instructor Shandra Wilson, participants will apply wax and dye to prepared eggshells to create meaningful, one-of-a-kind pieces of art which can be displayed for years to come.

This class is open to everyone ages 12+. The cost is $40 per person, and all materials are included.

Class will be held at the Elk County Council on the Arts Gallery, 237 Main Street, Ridgway.

Triangle Loom Weaving Class

Learn to weave on a tri-loom with instructor Raven Volos of Magically Ewe.

During this 4 hour class you will learn how to weave using the Continuous Strand method on a triangle frame/pin loom.

This class is beginner friendly, and everyone will leave with a finished 3-4' woven cowl scarf piece.

Ages 16+. The cost is $70 per person and all materials are provided. If you would like to use your own yarn please contact us for details.

Class will be held at the Elk County Council on the Arts Gallery, 237 Main Street, Ridgway.

*Please note that participants must be able to stand and reach during the weaving process.
