Oil Landscape Painting with a Palette Knife


This in-depth landscape drawing & painting class focuses on studies of observation, drawing, and painting in oils. Participants in this class will begin with learning drawing techniques and principles. Drawing is the foundation for good painting. By developing good techniques and practice, anyone can learn how to make more accurate drawings. After the drawing is complete, participants will be advanced through steps of the painting process.

Classes will take place Mondays and Thursdays (October 19th - November 16th) from 6:00 - 7:00 pm. in Zoom virtual classroom.

Materials Needed:

  • Landscape Oil Paint Set

  • Large Canvas (24” x 36”)

  • Brushes (various shapes and sizes)

  • Palette Knife

  • Odorless Mineral Spirits for brush cleaning and thinning paint

  • Palette to mix paints

  • Rags to clean brushes and wipe underpaint

  • Pencil and Eraser
