Artists of all ages and skill levels are invited to celebrate summer with art on the sidewalks in downtown Ridgway. If you have a business you would prefer to chalk your design in front of please note it below. No advertisements please!
This event is presented by the Elk County Council on the Arts and generously sponsored by RidgwayAID, The Ridgway-Elk County Chamber of Commerce and the Ridgway Industrial Development Corp. We appreciate their partnership and support!
Event Schedule, Saturday, June 20
8:00 AM – 5PM, Participants check in at the tent on the sidewalk in front of the Elk County Council on the Arts Gallery, 237 Main Street to collect their chalk and select their location.

Pre-registration is preferred for our records and participation numbers, but not required.
Materials
Up to 10 chalk colors will be provided by ECCOTA if desired. Artists are welcome to bring their own chalk. Only non-oil based washable chalk may be in your design. No paints, liquid pastels, oil-based pastels, hard pastels, etc. will be allowed. Other items artists may wish to bring include knee pads, a grid, ruler, stencil or pattern for design.
Rules
Contest is open to artists of all ages and skill levels. If under 18, a parent/guardian must be present.
Only non-oil based washable chalk may be in your design. No paints, liquid pastels, oil-based pastels, hard pastels, etc. will be allowed.
Artist(s) must not make the sidewalk impassable while creating their design.
Artist(s) may sign their work using chalk.
All artwork must be appropriate for public viewing by all ages; no graphic violence, gore, nudity.
No political messages, words or symbols intended as advertising may appear in the image or space provided.
Organizers have the right to disqualify and/or remove any inappropriate art or writing as they deem necessary.
Digital photos will be taken during and after the event. ECCOTA reserves the right to use photographs for marketing, promotion and publicity purposes.
Spaces will be assigned on first come first served basis.
Organizers are not responsible for damage or defacing of artwork.
Weather
All attempts will be made to hold the Chalk the Walk event. In the event of inclement weather, please check the Elk County Council on the Arts facebook page for notices.
