En Plein Air Meet Ups

Do you have an interest in or already enjoy creating art in the open air?

Join ECCOTA’s new free En Plein Air group, lead by Grover Slater, beginning mid-May. For approximately 3 hours each 1st, 3rd, and 5th week of the month join other local artists for spontaneous outdoor drawing, painting, or any other medium of your choice.

Each excursion will have a suggested art task such as using a certain technique of media application, unusual format to conquer, or working with your non-dominant hand. Spontaneous problem solving will be the goal.

Each En Plein Air adventure will end with a critique period and sharing of good thoughts. A long-term goal would be learning the matting and framing process and exhibiting En Plein Air creations in the Elk County Council on the Arts Gallery.

The group will have scheduled dates depending on the weather once each 1st, 3rd, and 5th week of the month, mid-May through mid-September. If you are interested in participating, please keep an eye on the schedule below, or sign up to get email and/or text alerts. Attend a few or attend them all!

All skill levels, ages, and mediums are welcome to participate. You do not have to be an ECCOTA member to enjoy this FREE program. You must provide your own materials, seating, etc. There will be limited formal instruction, but skill-sharing will be encouraged.
