Joseph Wortman almost completely self-taught, through trial and error, reading and some classes; he finds building projects primarily from wood to be both relaxing and rewarding. Up until this time, most of his projects have been free, including a friend’s kitchen in Ridgway, a new kitchen and office furniture for the Temple Baptist Church in DuBois, and making the doors and drawer fronts for a house he built with his friend. His projects are made almost exclusively from materials which are grown, harvested, sold, and worked in the Pennsylvania Wilds area of our state.
